Butterfly Basics Floral Hello Card

Today’s card is one of those that ended up nothing like I expected in the beginning. I wanted to create a Butterfly Basics floral hello card, so I pulled my stamps out and had a think. Then I found the sketch from Mojo Monday (#MOJO422), and knew that was the perfect layout for the tall flower stamp from the set. It was perfect for that tall, narrow panel in the sketch. I also knew I wanted to use a pink, and thought I’d add in at least one other colour with black and white. When I started out I was certain I was going to be throwing some Bermuda Bay or Pool Party in there. I couldn’t quite make that work.

Gorgeous Grunge appears in yet another of my creations in the background. Have I mentioned how much I ADORE this set? The Everyday Chic designer series paper pack added some great texture, too. I love that pack and knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it. One of the things I really love about it is that you can colour it any colour you want. I didn’t do that this time, obviously, but I think I’ll try to incorporate that into one of my cards very soon.

The “Hello” circle sentiment was created by Endless Birthday Wishes and Versamark on Melon Mambo and then embossing with white powder. I used Snail all over the back of the circle and then adhered my gold cording around it in a somewhat floral design and then added some Liquid Glue to sandwich that circle to a larger one. Originally that sentiment was embossed in gold on black cardstock, but I wasn’t happy with the effect and am much happier with the pink.
