I really enjoy playing along with challenges, and this Global Design Project Challenge GDP025 was fun! This week it is a colour challenge. And here’s what I’ve come up with:
And here are the colours for this week:
I’ve been wanting to use my new Zoo Babies set since I got it, and I knew these colours would be perfect for a baby card. I also used my new Hardwood background stamp and was very happy with how it turned out. I haven’t used background stamps in a long, long time. They can be slightly tricky to use, but the effect is usually awesome and well worth a few seconds of panic. I’m always worried that my cardstock won’t be straight or the stamp will move. I’ve found that placing the stamp face up, inking it and then placing your piece of cardstock on top is the easiest way to use them. I normally use a piece of scrap paper on top to give the cardstock a good rub into the ink and it works really well and avoids getting too much extra ink on my hands. My blog should possibly be title “Inky Fingers” as I’m normally walking around with ink somewhere on my person. Creativity is messy, after all.
What else have I used in this card? Well, I’ve used the Chevron embossing folder, the banner die comes from the Large Numbers Framelits and the stamp of the banner comes from the Number of Years stamp set. I bought this stamp set and framelits as a bundle and saved 15%! I have lots of bundled products in my online store that will save you 15%. Who doesn’t love coordinating products AND saving money!
I’ve wound some silver metallic thread around the Daffodil Delight panel and a couple of Daffodil Delight Candy Dots on the banner. And of course, you know I’m obsessed with Wink of Stella, well she’s been used on the elephant’s ear and on the Smoky Slate cirle surrounding the elephant. I don’t think it shows up well in the photo, though. It is so sparkly in person!
If your creative mojo needs a boost, head on over to Global Design Project Challenge GDP025 and play along, I’d love to see what you come up with!
