Masculine Valentines Card

Valentine’s Day is over for another year and this year I couldn’t go past a Bloomin’ Love masculine Valentines card. The stamp set is gorgeous and the coordinating dies are awesome. For this project, however, the large heart die was just a little too big, so I had to fussy cut the intricate heart out by hand.

I have taken inspiration for this card from another stamper, but I cannot remember who that was, I’m so sorry! Thankfully in the stamping world, most of us are more than happy to have our cards CASEd (copy and share everything!) If this looks similar to your design, please let me know and I’ll give you credit.

I knew I didn’t want the traditional red or pink card, because I didn’t want it to be too girlie. I decided to go with Basic Black and Bermuda Bay. I love the clean, simple, elegant lines of the Stylish Stripes embossing folder. I also used the banner die from the Large Numbers framelits set.

The mat behind the heart is wrapped loosely with Silver Metallic Thread and sponged with White Craft ink. I wasn’t happy with the card without the white, but using it really made the heart pop.

I’m not sure how well it shows up in the photo, but can you see that shimmer? That’s our wonderful, amazing new Wink of Stella glitter pen. I am in love with it. I’ve used it so much in the last few weeks that I’m scared I’m going to run out. I’ll be buying a few more in my next order! It adds such a lovely effect to the card without glitter falling off, and is so easy to use.

In the end I was very happy with this card, but with all the glitter, I’m not sure how manly it turned out. Ah well, everyone needs a little sparkle in their life! I hope you like this masculine Valentines card, too.
