A few weeks ago a new card challenge blog started up. I keep missing the challenges for a number of reasons, but I decided to play along with this one anyway, even though it’s from a few weeks ago. The challenge was to take your inspiration from a sketch they provided.
Here’s the sketch they provided. And above is my take on it. It’s nice and simple and works up very quickly once you decide what you’re doing. Although, if you’re as indecisive as I am it could take a while!
I decided to go with a pretty thank you card because they always come in handy and I go through a lot of them! This card features the A Whole Lot of Lovely hostess stamp set, which is only $14 with a qualifying order! That’s awesome value.
I knew I wanted to break into my new pack of Cherry on Top DSP (patterned paper), so I pulled in some colours from the paper for the rest of the card. The little punched flower looked a little plain on its own, so I added a rhinestone for some bling and then tied that in with the metallic silver thread around the doily. Right at the end I felt the background was a bit plain so I got out my Versamark ink and stamped the small flower stamp around the top half of the card. I’m happy with the results.
I really need to try to keep up with the challenges, it really helps to keep my creativity flowing. I’m always on the hunt for new challenge blogs, so if you know of any, feel free to link them here.
I think my favourite thing about this pretty thank you card is that adorable little yellow flower.
This card also uses that gorgeous dark teal Bermuda Bay that I used in the last card. I may need to change up my colour choices next time! It is definitely one of my favourite colours.
